It is obvious that the goal must be fast and without thinking. The questions still stand:

    * How do you remove the goal-keeper?

    * What is your method?

Do not come and say that you just score. If have seen enough players to know that most have a relatively limited set of attacks.

As for the video I wish there was a good reason to name it scoring. As for if I know how to score or not? Well, I was never the top scorer:

    As for the "Danish Tricks:

    http://www.uv-sport.dk/NIVEAU/Uv16.htm

    1) Very few players are strong enough for this against a real goalkeeper.

    2) Interesting since so many teams have become so good at defending the floor. Finland used this with great effect in the first round of the Nordic in 2008.

    3) A move with many variants. There is more power when taking support on the ball but also more balls lost.

    4) The method is interesting but there is a more effective variant.

    5) Slow.

    6) Takes lots of power.

    7) From that position there are more effective methods.

    8) I think there is a more effective variant.

Dear Felix & Moritz, The question was mainly meant to the "tank", not to the delivery boy.

Dear Lukbuk, your method sounds a lot like mine. However, my question is how you make that goal. What is your method?

    Dear Winne,

  • * What do you mean with "pump it in"?
  • * Tank on the goal is the normal state, otherwise the question is not interesting….
  • * Being faster than the goalkeeper is the luck method.
  • * Scoring (or failing to do so) on a penalty is very different since it is almost impossible (see video) to get into a normal scoring position. Penalties are usually scored with methods that are usually never used in a normal game since penalty methods are slow and safe in comparison. Btw, interesting that the video is named after the player that failed and not after the player who succeeded.

I think it is important to point out that the fins from Specialfins are much smaller and lighter than the fins from Waterway:

* Easier to turn.

* Somewhat less power (my memory is that they are at the same power level as a pair of Ala).

* Easier to fit in a small bag.

Some have claimed that they are easier to break but I have not owned a pair so I have not tested for durability. All fins break, the question is just how long a new pair lasts.

Since the fins from Specialfins and Waterway are so different I suggest trying both before deciding. My intuition is that the smaller fins would be more attractive to defenders, the bigger blades more useful for attack.

For most players the limiting factor is not how quickly they are able to turn under optimal conditions but if they have enough air to use these movements during the game. For this reason I suggest something more general:

Swim 2x10x100m high speed. Start every 90sek. 3 kicks under water after every turn.

Run 6x1000m high speed.

etc.

A very large factor in speed and acceleration is when you start to speed up and how willing you are to swim on speculation. The key factor is how quickly you can regenerate after a sprint.

What I have seen so far most end the season in the period: April to June.

It changes somewhat depending on if the year was planned for a big international WC/EC tournament.

And dont worry. I will be very careful so that I do not break any rule, I was slightly worried that I had already managed to break one.

Hi Winne,

I totally agree that there needs to be clear rules and restrictions about who is permitted to play for a given team and that we want the teams at the CC to be club teams, not a collection of whatever top players that they could get their hands on.

Along the general lines my main question was about the choice as calender year as the time period over which to count. I think that transfers must be "free" over the summer, transfer rules in season is a more difficult question.

As for myself, I am not playing for countries but for club-teams and I think it is very important to separate these issues. When it comes to the coming season my plan was to avoid games next season that would force me to register for a specific team until it has been decided who I play for. In Sweden team registration is controlled by the first time your name shows up on a game protocol. However, the proposed rule with a Jan 1 time-limit would make it impossible for me to play at all.

Who I want to play the CC for? Lets just say that I got called home for the playoffs to cover for injuries and it is expected that these players will heal in time for Berlin so I do not think that I will have more than one option to choose from…. and it will not be Malmo.

When I was doing my postdoc I checked and then there was only the Massachusetts team. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to go and train with them so I do not know more than that. I had to fly to Europe to play….

A question: In Sweden and Switzerland the rules for who is permitted to play are more outlined here. The result of this and a some sudden injuries is that I during this spring have played already played for two teams.

– Does this mean that participation at the championscup is impossible for me? Or is there something that I can do in order to "select" one of these teams?

A related question is:

– Sweden considers team member-ship on a per season (August to May) basis, with free transfer over the summer and transfer still possible during the year. Is any player who has played for a different team during the spring-season not permitted to start at the champions-cup?

By the way:

Reading the text about Gastarbeiter, does 1-3 only apply to players of a different nationality from their team or does it apply to all players.
