Exactly, with Dresden way more than 2 deg down is needed.
Most pools are too warm for an intensive game. Most pools should be turned down a degree or two. There are some exceptions, for example Dresden, Oerlikon and other dive-pools….
Molde vs Malmö?
@Lubuk: I disagree. A player used to playing 3:3 on big water will think that the best way to score is to wait for the defenders to go up, and will never go in to get the job done.
Btw: I have no problems reading German. I just prefer not to write in German.
If playing 3:3 I would suggest adding the following rules:
* Max 2m deep.
* Not permitted to bring the ball to the surface.
* Must dive to take part in the game.
We sometimes used it when not having enough player to get good speed at deep water. Playing 4:4 on deep is meaningless, there is almost no game. The only situation when it is ok to play 3 or 4 is during short periods of time when the rest are sitting in the penalty-box. In the penalty box scenario it is usually 3 in the water and 6 exchange to keep them fresh….
Those fins are very popular in Finland. I tried them some years ago and my feeling is:
* The thrust and speed is about the same as an Ala fin.
* The blade is much smaller than the blade on an Ala fin so they turn very well.
* Comparing to a pair first generation Waterway (Extra-hard compared to the current models), then fin does not deliver the same power but is easier to swim and turn.
I have heard some Finnish players complain that they break lots of these fins. However, they keep buying new fins so they must like the feeling when swimming with them.
Has anyone tried these fins yet? @Daniel: You say that you have ordered a pair. How are they?
You do not lock the door of your house because there is a thief IN your house but because you want the thief to stay out. You do not doping test because you want to catch someone but because you want athletes to stay clean. For this reason, no positive tests does mean that the anti-doping work is very successful.
That being said there is always the question what costs in terms of money or restrictions on players freedom are correct.
My girlfriend really liked the stream! It is good that the goals and the time are on the stream. It would be nice if you could also add:
* The signal horn. It gives the feeling. :)
* Information on time-penalties. Both when they start and when they end.
* Some information so that non-players do not have to wonder why the numbers are not updated even if the ball was in the goal. A short voice comment of type: game was stopped before the goad was scored would be enough.
* Who scored the goal. Since most relatives and friends are unable to see who is who it would make the game more living to them.
The dream would off course be if someone with a deep knowledge of the game added a voice-track helping the non-initiated to understand what happens. Otherwise it just looks like a bunch of people swimming around a bit at random.
In Sweden we usually have one ref with and one ref without bottle. That way the ref without bottle is far more mobile and can follow the game better. At this tournament I would guess that Manuel decided to go without bottle and I heard Kajsa say something along the lines of „Nice, then I can also go without bottle“. The solution with a 50l on the side is very nice and is also used in Copenhaguen.
I was not in the Bamberg-Molde game but my experience with Molde is that it is very hard and very clean games. They have so much control that they have no problem staying clearly within the rules, still it might hurt since some of them are rather strong.
The impossible game Molde vs. Norway with „full“ teams would be very interesting. The standard of the Norwegian national team varies between championships and it is clear that the NC is not a priority.
The Bamberg players and the entire team have trained for a tournament now.
The players from the National team are training for DM that is 8 months away. The national team as such is preparing for a tournament that is perhaps 18 months away. Since the German national team is not playing any interesting tournaments this year I could understand if they are not at their best.
I can think of several countries where a club team could beat the National, especially if the players from said club would not play for the National. The most obvious cases are Molde vs. Norway and then all the smaller Rugby nations. It is more intersting that it happened in Germany where the competence is spread across more teams.
Unfortunately there has been very few chances for clubs to play against full-strength National teams. For men, this is the only tournament that I know of that has permitted both National and Club teams. I wish we have had this opportunity during our best years.
Even if Øbro (Copenhagen) and Valhallabadet(Göteborg) both are 5 meters deep they are very different. Øbro is 12m wide, Valhallabadet 16 or something.
I have not played enough in Germany to answer (1) and (2).
3. Øbro, Copenhagen.
4. Øbro, Copenhagen.
12m x 5m. Very fast games. A beautiful facility with style. Some minus-points for limited space for warm-up.
I meant how you score during game. Most of the time that is against a defense that is in place.
I am not so sure that scoring has to be that chaotic and unsystematic. Winne, could you put online some entertaining video of Molde killing of some top team?
My own experience is that a significant number of goals are done by players playing with a plan and an idea how they want to score.
As for counter-moves by the goalkeeper, I strongly suspect that these get LESS efficient as the game on the goal is getting tighter since he does not know what to react to and it is very difficult to know at what side the ball is.
Es kann gut sein, dass das Unterwasser Rugby Forum trotzdem funktioniert.
